Overview

The RVR portal, developed for the Fire Protection Association (Brandskyddsföreningen), is a platform used by fire officers who are trained in handling environmental damage. These officers, called residual value managers, are responsible for minimizing the material and financial impact of events like fires, traffic accidents, and water leaks. They report incident details through the RVR portal, which operates 24/7 across the country. During my front-end development training, I worked on this project as part of my internship at Accigo.

About project

The RVR portal allows residual value managers to record details about accidents, such as damage, the individuals involved, and incident specifics. During my internship, I focused on improving the user experience and user interface (UX/UI) design. My tasks included designing features to make reporting more efficient and user-friendly. Some key features I worked on were:
A help button that provides guidance for filling out reports.
Notifications to alert users when multiple people are working on the same report and to track changes made by others.
A search function to help users quickly find individuals involved in incidents by searching their personal identification numbers.

My role

In this project, I was designing the user interface to improve the portal’s usability for those on the front lines of emergency response.
Developing features like the help button, notifications for multi-user collaboration, and an improved search function.
Ensuring the design made the portal easier to navigate for residual value managers and reduced the time needed to report incidents.
