ShineSnooze is a snooze app/alarm clock concept developed using the Design Thinking process. As part of the UX Design Process and Method in UX course, we were tasked with moving from an idea to a prototype. The goal was to gain hands-on experience in creating a prototype and testing it on real users. The project followed the five steps of Design Thinking: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test.
About project
The assignment was to create and test a snooze app/alarm clock using the Design Thinking process. We began by Empathizing with users to understand their needs and experiences. During the Define phase, we organized and analyzed the information we gathered, identifying the main problems from the users’ perspective. In the Ideate phase, we brainstormed and looked for creative solutions based on what we had learned in the earlier steps.
The prototype was created in Figma and presented to the class. While the team worked on a shared version, I also developed my own prototype based on the Design Thinking process, which you can view here above.
My role
In this project, I contributed to the Empathize, Define, and Ideate phases, working with the group to understand user needs and brainstorm creative solutions. I used Figma to create my own version of the prototype, separate from the group’s work, showcasing how the Design Thinking process shaped the final design.
This project gave me a deeper understanding of the Design Thinking process and hands-on experience in prototyping.
