Overview

Trim Time is a startup developing a digital service to simplify drop-in bookings for barbershops and hair salons. The goal is to create a seamless experience for both businesses and customers by offering an intuitive platform for managing availability, services, and pricing.

About project

Trim Time identified a gap in the market for an efficient drop-in booking system. As a startup, they aimed to validate their concept and refine their offering before scaling. Initially focused on the barber and hair salon industry, the platform has the potential to expand into other service sectors.

To establish a solid foundation, we conducted extensive UX research to understand business and customer needs. This led to the development of personas, problem statements, hypotheses, and user flows, ensuring that every design decision aligned with real user pain points. The design phase included wireframes, UI concepts, and a functional prototype, bringing the vision to life.

The final product enables businesses to manage their opening hours, services, and pricing while providing customers with an easy-to-use booking experience.

My role

I was responsible for the entire UX process and research, ensuring that every design decision was rooted in a deep understanding of user needs and business goals. I started by defining the value proposition to create alignment between the service offering and its target audience. Through extensive research, I developed personas that represented key user groups, allowing us to tailor the experience to their behaviors and expectations.

To guide the design process, I formulated problem statements and hypothesis statements, which helped shape clear objectives for the platform. I then mapped out the user journey with detailed flow charts, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience. Crafting UX copy was also a crucial part of my role, as it played a key role in enhancing clarity and engagement throughout the interface.

With a strong research foundation in place, I moved on to designing wireframes that structured the platform’s core functionalities. From there, I developed the UI design, creating a visually cohesive and user-friendly experience. To bring the concept to life, I collaborated on the creation of a clickable prototype, which was then used for user testing and validation. This process ensured that the final design was not only functional but also intuitive and aligned with both user expectations and business objectives.
